We run our own chat on Buzz, hosted on our own hardware. No Slack, no third party reading the room. Setup takes five minutes.

Install It

Mac: open the .dmg, drag Buzz to Applications.
Windows: run the installer.
Linux: chmod +x the AppImage and run it, or install the .deb.

Mac will block the first launch because the app is unsigned. Right-click Buzz → Open → Open. Still blocked? System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
Windows: if SmartScreen appears, More info → Run anyway.

Create Your Identity

Open Buzz and pick Create new identity. It generates a key that is your account.

Save the backup key in a password manager. There is no password reset. Lose the key, lose the account.

Paste Your Invite

Matthias sends you a personal invite link that looks like https://buzz.nashvilleautomation.io/invite/…. Paste it into Buzz when it asks you to add a community. That connects you to the workspace.

No invite, or it says expired? Ping Matthias. Links expire after a few days and a new one takes seconds.
